Caroline received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Winnipeg in 1995 and her Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Manitoba in 1999. She was called to the Bar in Manitoba in 2000 and was also called to the Bar in Saskatchewan in 2005.
Caroline practices in the area of Estate and Succession planning with the Firm. Prior to joining Pitblado Law she worked for a number of years in the financial services industry focusing on wealth management planning as it relates to estate planning. Through her practice, she assists clients with creating a legacy by preserving family assets and creating estate plans that provide for the smooth transition of wealth among various generations in a tax effective manner. Caroline has also assisted families with planning for the disabled and for minor beneficiaries through trust planning. Another major focus of her practice is to assist individuals with estate administration and the transfer of assets to beneficiaries.
Currently, Caroline is on the Executive of the Will and Estate Section of the Manitoba Bar Association. She is also a member of the Estate Planning Council of Winnipeg and regularly attends meetings of the Society of Trust and Estate Planners. Caroline is a member of the Major Gift Committee of the St. Boniface Hospital Foundation and the Allied Professional Advisory Group of The Winnipeg Foundation.
Caroline has given numerous presentations to investment advisor, bankers and various groups on estate and wealth management planning. She is a contributor to her firm's law blog which can be found at PitbLAWg.com, where she writes on estate and succession planning.
