Reporting to the Human Resources Administrator and working as part of a team, the successful candidate will have approximately one year of Human Resources or equivalent experience. Your responsibilities will include providing administrative/secretarial support to the Human Resources Administrator, maintaining employee records/databases, processing employee commencements, departures and leaves of absence, staff inquiries, staffing and vacation scheduling for approximately 75 support staff, assisting with benefits administration, preparing bi-weekly and semi-monthly payroll and assisting with or coordinating special projects or events.
The ideal candidate will have a Certificate or Diploma in Human Resources Management or an equivalent combination of education and experience, one to two years experience working in an administrative support capacity, preferably in Human Resources, basic knowledge of human resources related legislation, proven ability to perform under pressure and prioritize multiple responsibilities with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. You will also have excellent interpersonal skills, strong organizational, time management and oral and written communication skills, intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Access and previous experience with Ceridian or comparable payroll service provider is an asset.

Relief Receptionist/Administrative Support
Our receptionists create the first impression clients, callers and visitors will have of our law firm.
The hours of work for this position are from 7:45 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Responsibilities will include greeting clients, answering telephone calls, receiving faxes, booking meeting rooms, maintaining staff in/out list, data entry and preparing and distributing internal daily bulletin. You will also provide administrative and clerical support to the administrative and marketing team and will assist in our services area, as required.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years experience working in a professional environment and excellent communication, organizational and keyboarding skills with a strong attention to detail. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications required; knowledge of design (marketing) applications considered to be an asset.
