Julia received her J.D. from the University of Manitoba. During her law studies she worked as program coordinator for Pro Bono Students Canada – Manitoba Chapter, matching law students and volunteer lawyer supervisors with community organizations in need of free legal information.

Julia was called to the bar in 2017 and was awarded the A. Montague Israels Q.C. Prize by a special selection committee on the basis of performance in all aspects of the CPLED/Bar Admission Program, including her academic record, likelihood of future professional and personal accomplishments and other interests and achievements. Passionate about both the arts and access to justice issues, Julia is on the board of directors of the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, is Chair of Video Pool Media Arts Centre’s board and is a member of the Community Legal Education Association’s Advisory Committee.
