The Pitblado Pistols, Pitblado’s Law Hockey League team, is finished for the year, ending the 2022-2023 regular season in first place! Although they were not successful in the semifinal round of the playoffs, everyone enjoyed time spent with colleagues and teammates.
The team consisted of the following Partners and Associates:
- Josh Bokhaut
- Matthew Duffy
- Bruce King, K.C.
- Michael Puchniak
- Leith Robertson
- Connor Cleverley
- Matthew Knoll
- Kole Knudsen
- Joshua Lieberman
- Paul Nicholson
Robson Hall students Jordan Kreml and Kirk Knudsen were assets to the team and made that known. Along with Connor Cleverley, they made the top 10 for most points. The Pitblado Pistols ended the season with the most goals for (104) and least goals against (69), thanks to another Robson Hall student, goaltender Ryan Hall.
The team attended the Law Hockey League awards ceremony this week, hosted by newly appointed Chief Judge of the Provincial Court of Manitoba, Judge Ryan Rolston.
The ceremony involved presenting the Doug Mooney Award to the player who finished with the most points during the regular season, and the Bruce Miller Memorial Award to the applicant who, among other things, demonstrates sportsmanship, work ethic, fairness, and leadership.
We are excited to share that Pitblado’s own Connor Cleverley won the Doug Mooney Award for his 59 points (34 goals, 25 assists) this season. For reference, the next closest player had only 49 points.
Congratulations to the team for a fantastic season and to Connor on your well-deserved award!
