The City of Winnipeg launched its Transportation Management Centre in January 2017, featuring video management technology that records footage in real-time from cameras at traffic intersections around the city.

Concerns have been raised about personal privacy and whether police agencies, Manitoba Public Insurance, and other third parties will have access to the video recordings. Further, concern was raised over risk of potential hacking into the traffic management system and the implications it would have.
