It is with great sadness that we advise that after a courageous battle, our colleague and dear friend Brenda Donaldson passed away on September 21, 2020. Brenda was a valued member of the Firm for over 37 years. She was an avid Winnipeg Jets and Winnipeg Blue Bomber fan. Her warm smile and sincere kindness will be deeply missed at Pitblado and by all those who had the good fortune to know Brenda.

“Brenda’s help and friendship over the years meant the world to me. I have been so very, very, very grateful for her dedication, love and kindness.

I valued our connection – the two of us cut from the same cloth – family first, but so conscientious about doing a great job for our clients. We worked hard together with pride – we shared stories, moments, hugs and photos of our families – had tears and laughs as we worked, sometimes late or on a weekend – and it was so wonderful she was such an incredible team player. I think everyone at Pitblado would agree that this world really needs more people like Brenda.”

“Brenda was one of the most kindest, sweetest and hardworking people I knew. She was usually the first person I would chat with every morning to start off my day. She was an avid hockey and football fan and loved the discussions that took place in the office. I couldn’t believe the knowledge that girl had on all the teams. I will miss her immensely.”

– Michele Goossen

“Brenda was the kindest, most generous person ever. She was one of my first friends when I started at the firm 13 years ago. She remembered everyone’s birthdays, anniversaries, special occasions. She always made you feel special. Brenda loved cheering on the Bombers and the Jets, along with rocking out at many concert events.”

“Brenda made me feel so welcomed when I first came to Pitblado. She had such a beautiful smile and bubbly personality.

We grew very close throughout my time here. Brenda was someone who valued friendships, all things sports and, most importantly, family. We would always talk about how the Jets or Bombers were doing and the crazy parties she would have with her family. Her face always lit up when she talked about Jimmy, Kerri, Kelly, Jaxon and Flynn. I am definitely going to miss our daily chats in the morning.

I am reminded by a quote that I hold very close to my heart: ‘Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us every day…unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed and very dear.’”

“Brenda was one of the kindest people I’ve ever been lucky enough to know. Our friendship started in the office but soon carried on outside of work. She had the brightest smile and I truly admired her love for her family and friends. I will always cherish our daily lunches and our lunchtime chit chat. I will miss my friend dearly.”
