Biography
Brant has represented a diverse range of clients, from small startups to multinational corporations. He has a proven track record of success in negotiating and drafting contracts, advising on corporate governance matters, and facilitating mergers and acquisitions. He also brings business acumen and perspective from his recent tenure working in-house for a large publicly traded company where he gained valuable insights into corporate deal making, risk management, and the importance of aligning legal strategies and advice with business objectives.
Brant takes a proactive and client-centered approach to legal representation. He takes the time to understand each client’s business, risk tolerance, and unique opportunities and challenges to develop legal strategies that align with their goals. He prioritizes clear, straightforward communication, responsiveness, and efficiency to ensure that clients receive timely and effective legal advice.
Brant has experience across a wide variety of industries and practice areas. His experience in the digital and technology sector includes providing advice related to non-disclosure agreements, the development and deployment of SaaS offerings, software licensing and acquisitions, intellectual property protection, regulatory compliance matters, and the negotiation of master service agreements, statements of work and service level agreements. Over the years, Brant has represented lenders and borrowers on commercial financing matters including providing advice related to credit facility agreements and secured transactions. Brant regularly advises clients on commercial real estate transactions in Manitoba, including purchases, sales, leases, and development projects. Brant is often asked to act as Manitoba counsel for law firms and businesses located in jurisdictions outside of Manitoba for a wide range of matters including mergers and acquisitions, financings, contract negotiations, and corporate organizations. He also has unique experience in the agriculture, igaming, lottery, and charitable gaming industries.
Outside of his legal practice, Brant is actively involved as a volunteer for disability, accessibility and sport organizations. He is committed to giving back to his community, including serving multiple terms as an executive member of the Board of Directors Variety – The Children’s Charity of Manitoba.
